Social Squatting – a New wave of Cyber Squatting
The newer wave of name squatting can be observed in social networks. Social influencers (social network users with tens of thousands followers) enjoy huge traffic to their hubs. So it was only a matter of time before misspelled versions of social influencers’ usernames would spread like a wildfire. I suggest a name of social squatting for this tactic.

Not long ago I joined a new social network that is built on a principle of visual representation of user connections – Tobri.
I often typed “torbi” instead of “tobri”. At the same time I rarely make such mistakes when typing much longer urls – such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, IMFaceplate, Amplify, FriendFeed, etc.
Why is this happening?
I pondered over this question for a while, and I think I found the explanation.

I just found ou that there is another new social networking company that uses similar model: Sokule. It doesn’t give you free shares, but it serves as a new social aggregator with tons of cool features. As soon as you post a message, it’s also posted on Twitter and 40 other Top Social networks.
